I think between us we could compose a reasonable crossword

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!" - Hunter S Thompson - RIP

My list of possible clues is pretty short and none could be described as "well designed"!

YAUT I had a suspicion you might solve this one. I had my clue all ready but then later I saw your response to Bill's poem yesterday. I immediately checked my house for electronic surveillance equipment btw.

I would have given 100:1 that you chose your word after reading my post, but it was pure coincidence?! :-D

Yes, it was pure coincidence! I ran across the word somewhere in my reading a couple weeks ago. I had to look it up. I thought at the time it might make a decent CCC. I worked out the clue and finalized it yesterday morning. We had some errands to run so I didn't see your response to Bill till late afternoon. I made me go hmmmmm.

If you search nearby, you'll find a periscope disguised as an alpaca. :-D

Wouldn't that cause an a-llama bell to ring?
