... this would probably persuade me: Crypto lender Celsius CEO reveals $1.2bn shortfall. Bulk of losses not new - Ledger Insights - blockchain for enterprise[^] $1.2b shortfall. Holy moley - the savers will be lucky to see anything back from their deposits by the time the administrators have finished mopping up the small change ... :sigh:

I think a shell game has cropped up around crypto, but I don't think crypto itself is a shell game. You just have to be careful.

Maybe... but the games played by the World Bank, all the world's governments and legacy currency investors are already bad enough. Crypto is 10x worse - all while flying Mach 3 with your hair on fire.

How does that instance "persuade" you, outside the obvious point that it reinforces your feeling about crypto? Some major banks almost went belly up a few years ago. Doesn't persuade you to post about the Euro being a shell-game :)

            Article link:

“During its growth, the Company suffered a series of losses that impacted its ability to match its assets and liabilities,” he wrote.

Yeah, that's what happened. To the banks here, I mean. Lending money involves risc. If with "Crypto" you mean BitCoin, then no, it can't go bankrupt. --edit Currency speculation also involves risc. That's not a business model, but gambling.

There it is again: "currency" speculation ... It's a pot full of wishful thinkers playing chicken with each other; waiting for a self-serving whale to tell them when to "take the dip"; again. The other "wish" is that this is winter, and summer will come; again.

"Before entering on an understanding, I have meditated for a long time, and have foreseen what might happen. It is not genius which reveals to me suddenly, secretly, what I have to say or to do in a circumstance unexpected by other people; it is reflection, it is meditation." - Napoleon I

Is it wishful thinking that the Yen will loose value? It's not playing chicken and it not bad either; it moves part of the currency risc from the general public to the speculator. With risc reduction less volatility. It exist since the invention of fiat currencies. Since their existance, we can bet a ton of wood (or a few grams of gold) against that currency. Sounds wrong again, fiat is not a bad thing. It spread wealth among those without gold.

Kids waiting for "better" times; for moving, marrying, getting kids. Economical good times. Nothing lasts and even this shall go away.

Well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite 2 part crypto story again. 1) Dunning-Krugerrands. 2) Money with wings.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius
