Have anyone idea how to spend weekends? I always want to ask other developers how they spend there weekends... In my case this often looks like: - I meet with my friends from other developers firms and we drink beer and talk about programming.... Good Luck Alex Kucherenko

I don't usually spend it programming. There are other things in life... Ryan Being little and getting pushed around by big guys all my life I guess I compensate by pushing electrons and holes around. Religious Zealots spend the weekend promoting their version of "God", and claiming theirs is the only true religion, and they alone possess the knowledge of of truth and tolerance. And then they kill anyone that doesn't agree. Linux Zealots spend the weekend porting Linux to useful items, such as clay bricks, coffee mugs and a simple desk lamp. Windows Zealots spend the weekend on the phone with Microsoft trying to get their copy of XP activated. Programmers used to spend weekends programming, but since patents are so freely handed out for common knowledge, the act of manually typing in the code is in danger of becoming the IP of SCO. ------- signature starts "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001 Please review the Legal Disclaimer in my bio. ------- signature ends

Last weekend: Friday night: hung out at home, read some Clive Barker, newspaper, and watched TV Sat.: Went to a local park with a cup of coffee and my camera in the morning to try to get photos for a local contest. Then went to rehearsal for improv, we called it short, grabbed a burger and watched Pootie Tang (funny as hell!!). Went out drinking that night, saw old friends, new friends and met others. :-D good times! Sun: a little hungover, I woke up at 7:45 to get ready for golfing. Shot some Par-3, went out for a beer, and then met my improv troupe for rehearsal again. A run by the library, lunch and some drinks downtown, and then off to taunt people with our karaoke abilities. Overall a great relaxing yet busy weekend. :) BW "I don't remember, but I know we played together because I've seen the posters." - Joe Walsh talking with Ozzy Osbourne about touring together in the 70's

Well, this weekend: Tonight: Veg out. Install 2K3 on my server. Have drinks with friends. Saturday: Veg out. Do all the chores I've put off during the week :-). Have drinks with friends. Sunday: Set building with local theatre group. Veg out. Forget to watch Top Gear and Full Metal Challenge :|. -- Ian Darling

Actually, I almost exclusively hang out with non-programmer types now. Never been happier. :) More so because of the variety in input now, rather than having disliked programmer types. ;) BW "I don't remember, but I know we played together because I've seen the posters." - Joe Walsh talking with Ozzy Osbourne about touring together in the 70's

I have never hung out with another programmer in my life. For many years I hung out my sports buddies (turned in to drinking buddies after we got in our 20s). But after a few things that occurred I don't see them anymore. I am tired of the bar scene, I don't want to get drunk anymore and I'd rather spend all of my free time with my girlfriend. John
