Work.............. Life................. Balance............ I do wonder about this "quiet quitting" phenomenon. Apparently people are doing their jobs and just their WHOLE job and then shockingly they are going outside and enjoying life. Apparently people are then happier with life. I mean who would have thunk of such a thing.

To err is human to really elephant it up you need a computer

Regular high intensity work, or [Special High Intensity Training?](https://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/user/mootaz/ftp/html/ellen.html)

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius

Why is anyone surprised by this. Look at his other successful companies, Tesla and SpaceX, and you see this same work environment. Boring Company doesn't seem to be as successful and you also don't hear about this type of work environment there. Had Musk just done this when he took over he wouldn't have had to fire half the staff. They would have quit, saving him 90 days salary for over 3,500 people. A change in work requirements leading people to mass quitting is not one of the triggers in either the US WARN act or its California counterpart, so long as those work requirement changes are consistently applied and for longer than the notification periods required by these two Laws.

Twitter Revenue and Usage Statistics (2022) - Business of Apps[^] Twitter has only turned a profit 2 of the last 10 years (2018 & 2019). Cumulatively they're at a $1 billion loss. Obviously, something drastic needed to change - it's simply not sustainable. I'm not saying Musk's approach will work in the long run... I have no idea. I personally find social media (in nearly all it's forms) to be very bad for society - so I'm hoping he fails. But the status quo at Twitter was sure to fail.

            > I'm not saying Musk's approach will work in the long run... It's a terrible idea. It is positively the worst way to get the best out of people and extremely bad for their mental health. [Edit] Haha, employees are voting with their feet, serves that dipstick right: [Twitter ‘closes offices’ after Elon Musk’s loyalty oath sparks wave of resignations | Twitter | The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/nov/17/elon-musk-twitter-closes-offices-loyalty-oath-resignations)
