Becks is producing the world’s first beer and full marketing campaign made with artificial intelligence, the company said in a statement. The German beer leaned into AI to create the limited-edition Beck’s Autonomous to celebrate its 150-year milestone. The technology was not only used to generate the recipe and the name, but also to design the logo, container and advertising campaign. Beck’s is releasing just 450 Autonomous limited-edition beers across Germany, Italy, and the UK. McCormick & Co. partnered with IBM four years ago to comb through data faster and more effectively by knowing which ingredients work together or which ones can be used as substitutes for each other. The AB InBev-owned brand said the beer, called Beck’s Autonomous, was selected by AI as its favorite among millions of different flavor combinations it generated. The “futuristic concoction” contains water, malts, hops, yeast and AI.

Cool. Beck is an excellent beer. Spend a lot of time in Germany back in the early 80's. Beck was the beer of choice (that and Guinness) among my German colleagues. I will see if I can find this latest version in US.

Not a chance in hell...or it will be great success in US..... Many years ago there was "...it's a water..." beer. Near Houston there is a brewery, or just "distribution point " (?) , co-located in industrial area - near "ship canal ( water source ?) " and oil refineries... I was raised in a country where ANY beer beats the taste of the "stuff" made in US. But the taste does not matter when the objective is to get drunk.... Show me a drunk who will get exited about "chugging AI beer "... ....can I have another pint? PLEASE...

Why in a report about Becks did the author feel the need to stick in a paragraph about McCormick & Co.? Why only 450? We can only hope that the AI gets a taste for beer, turns into an alcoholic, and loses all credibility.

Only thing close to brewery in Houston Ship Channel area is Budweiser Brewery Experience. Budweiser is an OK beer but yes mild and wet like cold water. Tastes fine on hot summer day of sweating. Curiously when doing my German thing I had a visit to a Finnish restaurant. Excellent food like reindeer and such and their beer tasted like Bud light. I liked it. I suspect the best of US beer is not exported. There is a strong German/Czech tradition of beer making here in central TX. Shiner, the best. Yes, finding the newest Beck might be hard, but you can never tell in US.

I haven't had one in years perhaps it is not as good. But to each his own when it comes to taste. Almost every country brews their versions, Italy included of course.

BYW, Anheuser-Busch has been making their version of Beck since 2012. Beck's parent company, Inbev, merged with Anheuser-Busch. supposedly the same formula with water rules and regs used by Germans is also used here. But German made Beck is still the best.

I'm quite certain the Italian version isn't the same, in Italy the most commercial beers have all a persistent and bitter overtone that kills all other flavours. I love Belgian, Czech and Irish beers (Guinness excluded), mostly the ome with a strong malt flavour and a non persistent bitterness.

Very likely the agreement with IBM stipulates that it must be mentioned. It mentions "four years ago" so before the most recent AI splash so IBM would have been trying to push their own product.
