Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Oooo man ... it feels nice! Way better than my previous XBox 360 controller - it's heavy, solid, and the controls are smooth. It also doesn't have the "near digital" control of the thumb sticks, you can finesse your movement much more easily. Mind you, for that price it should do ... £139 / $175 is a lot for a controller. But the old one was getting tired, and didn't return to centre too reliably which was messing me up in games, so I took internet advice and went for the "best in class". You play games to enjoy yourself, not get frustrated because your guy keeps moving when you told him to stop. Only worry is the extra paddles underneath - they mirror the "ABXY" keys, and "Y" in GTA is get in / out of vehicle, and that isn't one you want to pull by accident when flying ... as I found when I first picked it up today ...

Never mind the controller, I still do that accidentally with the keyboard every once in a while, to this day. Unrelated: About a week ago I finally passed $2B in cash after playing online since...2018? I've been forcing myself to try to reach that milestone when it finally seemed like something achievable. Suddenly my interest in the game has dropped.

I'm just under $300M, and only just got into Cayo Perico after my first attempts just frustrated me too much. So I left it alone and only went back a week or so ago. Now I do it Elite every time, undetected and with zero kills. For me, it got easier after the nerf everyone was complaining about! I've discovered that you can get a free app from the MS store which lets you configure the buttons - so I've got the bumpers repeated under the device (and can't fall out of the vehicle if I grip too tightly any more). Which means that drive by shooting is easier as well - before I had to switch to mouse for that bit.

Ha. You can count me among those...before they nerfed it, I did it with the Elite bonus more often than not, and it's been the opposite since then. By that time, I guess I was already too set in my ways to spend much time trying alternatives. Doing it with zero kills is rather impressive. Lately I've been collecting the full set of [rare vehicle spawns](https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Los\_Santos\_Customs#Pre-modified) (just because I'm running out of things to do in the game)...it took forever to get my first gold Dubsta, but once I got the first one, they're showing up a lot more often, to the point where I'm now just 1 or 2 short of a full garage of them. What I really want (and I'd be willing to spend the time writing it) is a tool that can log into my R* account and download stats, such as which car is in which garage...I really need to reorganize my garages, and doing that with a hand-written spreadsheet is a mess, and very quickly gets out of date. I found [some docs](https://rockstar-api.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) that are now many years old and out of date; my understanding is that they have a REST API, and it seems rather straightforward, but it looks to me like they've changed the login procedure. If I could get past that, I'm sure I'd have no problem getting the data I'm after...

Doing it zero-kills was what made it easy for me - no bodies left around to be spotted! Longfin to the airport, follow the hanger guard and slip inside. Grab the loot, wait 'til he passes then run for the boat. Drain entry, run up the stairs, turn left, hop over the wall, run past the building, turn left, run round the corner, over the wall, up the stairs. You may have to pause here until the guard at the top of the stairs moves to the area everyone else seems to kill him in*. Then run past him, run past the stationary guard at the bottom the the stairs to the office. and start up stairs. stop and wait for the guard to stand in the corner, then run past him up to the office. Rob the safe, use the print cloner, into the lift. Steal what you came for, back up the lift, run down past the guards. You may have to wait for the guard you didn't kill and the Juggernaut, then over the wall, up the stairs keeping to the right and exit the doors. Run left and round to the farthest bit of land, down into the sea and swim to LS. Takes about 12 minutes in total solo. Works for me every time. * I'm pretty sure the Juggernaut can see his corpse which is why I kept getting "body found" and helicopters shooting at me ...

That's a pretty nice walkthrough, thanks for that. It just so happens that I completed the prep missions yesterday and I have a big fat pink diamond waiting for me. I'll try your approach. Normally I end up killing maybe 3 guards, at the most (down from maybe 7 before they nerfed the heist, otherwise some of bodies now started being found) but I like the idea of not killing a single one of them.

Apparently when they nerfed the heist they also tweaked the method that determines the odds of getting the various targets - the sooner you try to go back and do another heist, the bigger the chances you have of getting tequila. I've read it back a number of times but still can't quite figure out what the optimal time to wait is. All I know is that if I immediately go back to re-scope the island as soon as Pavel says you can go back...way more often than not, it'll be tequila again. And I got confused by your description. :-) Which wall? Which building? That sort of thing...sounds very straightforward when you see it written down, but once you're on the actual map (and while trying not to be seen by guards)...it's quite different. [This](https://www.gtaboom.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Combat-Shotgun-Location-1-Map.webp) is a map of the compound I found. Not sure if you have a better one. Since a picture is worth 1000 words...could you maybe draw the path you're taking? Should be a lot easier than describing it.

I figured, if you could write the directions from memory, drawing lines on a map would be even easier. That's awesome, thanks so much for that. Rather cheeky in hindsight for me to ask, eh? :-) I'm making a long - very long, and needless - detour on entry, it seems, compared to yours. I made a habit of steering clear from the jugg's path, since he's so hard to kill, and I never spent the time, since R* tweaked the heist, to figure out his new route and where he pauses. Time to re-learn... I'll let you know how it goes for sure.

Just did it, got elite with no kill inside the compound on my first try...9:51. Nice.

I take it you killed the guards outside the compound and took the bike to run away?

Yeah, that part, I didn't change from my regular routine, which changes based on where the duffel bag goodies are (when doing it solo, I always go for coke since it pays the most). I don't get anything other than primary target inside the compound (since you can't grab gold while solo, and coke is only elsewhere on the island). I kill the first 3 guards going north, then it depends, like I said, where the goods are. Even if you get caught once outside, that doesn't affect the elite bonus. [Edit] Just to clarify, I immediately start by getting in through the drainage tunnel - I only grab stuff from outside the compound *after* have the primary target.

I fill my bag first - normally just the hanger at the airstrip - then head for the tunnel. I guess because the first few times I did it, I had to fight my way out, and that's not easy when you have to pick up goodies at the same time! First time I succeeded I swam underwater all the way to the airstrip to get out and made it even with my plane coughing and spluttering black smoke ... then I swam out too far and ended up in LS to my complete surprise!

Well as mentioned, getting detected after you've exited the compound doesn't affect the elite bonus, so as long as you don't get killed (or go over the 15-minute limit), you can take your time killing guards/picking up loot on the way out. But that's just me. :-)
