In the old days: Sonicwall, original company. If they couldn't talk you through it, they would remote connect and do set up or troubleshooting. Failed power supply: over nighted a new one. No charge. Recent: Cisco, and it was a Bot. Replacing failed switch. Codeproject: resisted pointing out that I am an idiot because I haven't a clue on CCC's. :)

Surprisingly, I have to give a nod to Microsoft: my MB died, so I replaced it, and Win10 insisted that I need a new licence. MS Tech support dialed in, and worked under nasty conditions to fix it. The dial in picked up only my main monitor, but the taskbar was on the left hand one - and because Windows thought it was a pirate installation it wouldn't let us move it. So he was working nearly blind to write and execute scripts to find the original licence key while being unable to see 2/3rds of the screen ... Took him 1/2hr, but he did it and was unfailingly polite and helpful as he did.

Iyama - my screen blew because of an electrical fault at home. They sent me a replacement screen for free. Ever since then I have only bought Iiyama screens, as I value the old fashioned principle of loyalty.

Intel - not necessarily for CPUs or SOCs. Back in the early 90's when they sold a ISA based Fax board and I was an IT drone I had a great experience with their tech support. ??? - A few years later I had a great customer service / tech support experience with some RAID system we had. For the life of me I can't remember the brand.

I just had the same situation with a Pfister faucet. The pull down sprayer sprung a leak in the hose after only 2 years of use (and honestly not swinging from it or anything :-D ). I couldn't remember the name of manufacturer but found the old book in a cabinet -- now it had been 5 years since I bought the faucet. Uh oh. I looked them up so I could order the part & pay for it. Their web site was really nice because you just report your problem with pics and they help. They ended up sending me the replacement hose and parts for free. Amazing Pfister!! Is plumbing the last bastion of good support? Maybe.

They may not be the last bastion but they are as a group way smarter than a lot of other companies with the concept of support. Do the Math ! They make 100 parts and stock them at one or three corporate location They pay the shipping and entice the plumbers with a worth while Warranty It does not pay them to make parts for every HVAC or major plumbing supply business that might be 2 parts in well over 1000 location plus they still need to ship the part. And getting the plumbing supply to carry a minimum on hand quantity. It does not happen. We can order that or sell you a new Faucet Plus most pluming manufactures Moen, Kohler and Pfister to name a few make products that last
