Yeah I didn't even have an Xbox but I saw Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic in a store and had to get one :) Now I can't wait to get home and play, I am just at work now *going through the motions*. I hope this game rules! I wish Microsoft would open up the development on the XBOX I mean why can't garage developers program for it? I can't imagine paying $10K for the SDK just to poke around and make a cube on the screen. Code4Food ---- "There is no try; only do or do not" -Yoda

NICE! :) Did you get a saber yet? Was it long? And how is the combat? Man, I can't wait till I get home to play, oh well another night of programming gone :) and so is another day. Yeah they just opened the egbames in my area I walked in (lunch) and I asked about this game, heard a lot of good things about it. They said they only had one left. So I bought the game, there was a suprised look on the sales clerk face when I then asked how much an XBOX was? :) Code4Food ---- "There is no try; only do or do not" -Yoda

Code4Food wrote: Did you get a saber yet? I don't have a saber yet, though I am dual-wielding swords (a long sword and a modified vibroblade :)) It looks like this game is going to be similar to Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast where you don't get a lightsaber until somewhere in the middle (I imagine you get it before the middle in this game since it is supposed to be long). Code4Food wrote: And how is the combat? Combat is smooth, it follows the Balder's Gate/Neverwinter Nights style of combat where you tell the character what skills to use, but everything else is taken care of for you. A slight twist is that you can control your movement during combat so that you can get into better spots. Yeah, I've seen E.T. added to that list of crappy games, but I know I played it a lot. There were a ton of crappy games, but I'd say the real culprits were the big food companies. BurgerTime was a hit, and before you know it you have games with little dog food chuck wagons driving across the screen with no apparent purpose other than to burn the image into your head. So here is my thinking. I'm guessing that they are trying to avoid what happened in the late 80's. They don't want people saying "Yeah, there are some good games for the XBox, but there are some real stinkers too. Now the Playstation....all their games rock!" I could see how it would be possible to think that, however I don't agree with it. I think today's console consumers are a little better aware of what's going on, than they were 20 - 30 years ago, and I think we have the rise of the computer and computer games to thank for that. So, I can see what they are probably thinking but I don't agree with it. I'd like to get my hands on an SDK too. Also as was mentioned in other posts, it may just be a money thing. Microsoft knows there are people that would be willing to buy the sdk.
