    Engadget[^]:

The company will be able to fix the issue via an over-the-air update.

Now get them to talk to the people that put warnings on pill bottles

Congress really needs to update the terminology the NHTSA can use. Limit recalls to physical recalls and give us a new term for software updates done over the air.

Agreed. Compare this with the recent Toyota "Don't drive - car can kill you" recall. This is just a mandatory update notice.

I can't recall any car I've owned which had text on any of the indicators! They just used an icon. I suppose it's related to the US fixation of having text on signs. For example, Euro sign for no entry is a red circle with a white bar, no reading needed; US is a red rectangle with then words "WRONG WAY" in white.

I can say as an American, that's all the reading some people do.

I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated. I’m begging you for the benefit of everyone, don’t be STUPID.

How many different languages would they have to have on the sign if they used words?

Whoa, really? I don't suppose it's Toyota's fault (so much as it was one of their dealerships) but they lost what would've been a lifetime customer in me. The dealer cold-shouldered me after a total engine loss on an engine that was a mere couple months outside of a recall for engines seizing. It was pretty obviously the same issue, I know did maintenance, regular oil changes and all that. Always thought of them as a brand that lasts before that.
