I am "impressed", observing that in the year 2025, software still ingores non-US letters. In the porting process, my nick has changed from "trønderen" to "tronderen". Appearently, Norwegian letters are accepted in message bodies, at least at editing time - we'll see if they display correctly at read time: æøå ÆØÅ.
Hopefully, the limitation to 7-bit ASCII was limited to the porting too. But even a porting tool should have known in the year 2025 that the world retired 7 bit ASCII <i>many</i> years ago.
