FOR CODERS, TECH AND INTERNET NERDS ALIKE- writing a story, could use your help!

hello!
my name is samuel, im a 17 year old artist, animator, writer and occasional music-maker and html coder.
im working on a passion project comic/story that essentially turns tech, functions and general tech phenomena within computers into characters and sentient beings-- for instance; the search bar, or the play button, or programs like ms paint!
its still kind of fresh of an idea, and there will be a couple creative liberties taken, but i would like to make things accurate to actual coding and tech.
im currently trying to figure out what things to make characters and what to make inanimate and part of their world. ive already decided scripts/code are not going to be something i make a character-- instead, like they are for pretty much every digital thing, theyre the building blocks of the world, the characters themselves and their physical forms as well.
speaking of; every character has a physical form that their personality, function, and code influences. i imagine depending on the age of the program or function (i really need to find a generalized term to refer to all the characters...) their appearance will follow trends! for example, the paint program has its icon as a key part of its appearance :)
viruses are also going to be characters! now i plan on making the types of viruses their own characters, like trojans, spyware, etc... but i also want to make infamous viruses like the "iloveyou" virus and the "you are an idiot" website virus characters! (though the two i mention are defunct due to security, antivirus and general os and tech updates.... which does play into their characters.)
and yes, every character retains the function of what its based off of-- the play button will play media, the stop button will stop media or scripts from playing, etc. this does give some characters more power than others, but theres a societal structure, along with a power dynamic structure among them all.
though im unsure where exactly the setting/world location for the characters are, i imagine its either a computer, some sort of server/server room, or... something.
all of this being said, i would like your feedback, ideas, critiques, whatever you've got regarding it! im no tech nor programming expert myself, and theres tons of stuff i may be missing, or stuff that knowing about might make the story better! tell me what things you'd like to see as characters, what you things you think would be part of their world-- nerd out, go wild!
thanks a bunch in advance :)

Sounds fun, reminds me of Wreck-It Ralp or Pixel somewhat, although they focused on game characters. Clippy should definitely be a character (I mean, he already is) and then either an evil high in command or a down in the dump hobo. Maybe Twitter and X can be twins, one good and one evil. Maybe some have-beens, like MySpace or WinAmp.

This is me nerding out:
- The first word in a sentence should be capitalized.
- Sentences end with a period.
- Avoid inappropriate use of semicolons and exclamation points!
- There is no valid use of a double hyphen, and for clarity a hyphen should be encapsulated with one space on each side.
- Paragraphs should contain at least two sentences.

Love your idea, Samuel! Making programs and tech functions into characters is super creative. You could include streaming apps as characters, too, like media players or streaming. https://themagistvapps.com/ platforms that let other programs “watch” content, host events, or share videos and sports channels. This adds a fun, interactive layer to your digital world!

Perhaps the poster needs a good chat agent?
