Stephane will probably tell you that it's yet another attempt of Bill to dominate a market, crush competition, and push proprietary extensions down the consumer's throat

eWeek Article[^] O.k., so what gives with this move? What is Bill up to now? Anyone have any, emmm, "insight" into this news? D.
Douglas Troy wrote: what gives with this move? For some reason, i suspect it's yet another attempt of Bill to dominate a market, crush competition, and push proprietary extensions down the consumer's throat... But can't be sure if that's because Peter planted the thought in my head, or just because that's what Microsoft does, day in day out, in every market they have entered or think they might want to enter.

I would hate to be that developer. He was doing intense and innovative things to promote a universal protocol, and now he's ligotated with no right to speak. MS has just hired someone active in the web services arena. Someone that would otherwise do harm for the control of the web service specs, especially when you know the tension between the two proposals : Sun's, Microsoft's. If web services don't catch up fast enough, Microsoft is going to lose money, and become irrelevant. Taking advantage of InternetExplorer to steal user's name and password. I say good on them (microsoft), why buy a company when you can buy the people? Never made sense to me why they did that. They are spending waaayyy too much time worrying about what their detractors might think and not enough time innovating, hopefully they will get back to that. How it is that there are so many anti-capitalists here is beyond me, where does your pay check come from? They don't grow on "happy trees" you know.;P ------------

You mean the big X over the IE symbol? I don't think it's "eye-hurting"...I just think it's very reflective of Stephane's character...
I have also lived some years in Spain, and there people don't accept that you speak bad spanish. I usually compensate by speaking loud and accusing people of being stupid because they don't understand me. It usually works quite well. -jhaga on non-native languages

If you don't agree with his views, please either reply to him or silently, anonymously, vote him a 1, or whatever and be done with it. He feels seriously about some issues and shares it with all of us. It's up to us to accept or reject it. But I don't think a ridicule in someone else's thread is in order here.
