How does everyone here see offshore development affecting programmer's livelihood in the US and other countries. I am worried that many jobs will be lost to other countries because of wage differences. What is the answer here? Should we be concerned? What actions can we take?

Some medium level programmers, too. Very good programmers, don't. Average programmer wages will drop. Jeffster wrote: What actions can we take? Encrypt your source files :) Jeffster wrote: Should we be concerned? No: anyone who lives in a 3rd world country can tell you a similar story. We are used to lose job positions on almost every single industry. Even this way, we manage to survive. BTW, most people here code to make more things with less people. This means that most of us are responsible for many unemployed workers. Isn’t it a bit selfish to worry only when your jobs are in danger?
