actually its a bit more detailed than that. the soap box is what convicted criminals used to stand on in london at speakers corner. this was their last chance to say what they wanted before they were hung. however, due to english law they were not allowed to say certain things on english land, so therefore they used to stand on a soapbox...

Well that's my lesson for the day - thanks! The only people I've ever seen there are crazies, but I guess many traditions become tamer with time.

[sarcasm] That's it. I'm fed up with all these ferf's that haven't got a *ucking clue. The Soapbox is for letting it all go. No holds barred. Say what you want, retard. Let them have it with both barrels, numbnuts. The lounge on the other hand is just somewhat more sedate. And the language is *supposedly* for everyone, including your younger sister. [/sarcasm] Make sense? Chris Meech If you spin a Chinese person around, do they become dis-oriented?

How refrshing to see the honest truth instead of the typical pseudo-intellectual drivel.

yeah worrying isn't it. yesterday we had a reasonable exchange of points that didn't result in Terry insulting me or in me calling him an asshole. I have wondering for a while what is the difference between The Lounge and The SoapBox. Perhaps my question comes from the fact that if I know what a Lounge is, I don't why a message board is called SoapBox. Is it somehow connected with soap opera ? Callixte.[^]
