Anyone have any experience with phpBB vs Invision Power Board? Both come with features I'm probably going to have to hack to turn off (smilies, polls, etc). Reason I'm asking is that I've gotten off my arse and moved the server to a new provider and they offer both, and I'm not sure which is "better" after setting both up and playing with them.

I don't like the look, I don't like the feel. I don't like the straight-down approach to a forum vs. the threaded view. Anything would be better than phpBB. Just my opinion though. :)

Invision doesn't thread either - the layout and actions are very similar between it and phpBB (similar enough that there is a mod for it to make it look JUST like phpBB). Hell, if you want to compare them yourself: phpBB: www.nopcode.com/forum Invision: www.nopcode.com/msgbrd
