>Jeez, isn't being able to monitor The Lounge *and* the Soapbox in your reader enough? LOL You speak of the semantic web up above, yet building plugins to read proprietary pages like the CP forums is kind of counter the whole spirit of that. Certainly once CP starts using standards more effectively and using semantic markup then a plugin for reading the forums is good. Still have a long way to go towards that though (and not just on CP but with standards and world wide use of them). regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Miszou wrote: I have read the entire internet. on how boring his day was. Awasu reads CP's web service to monitor the Lounge and there's a bunch of meta-data in there. We scrape the Soapbox only because it is not available in the web service. I did ask Chris but he said "not a chance" :-) RSS is simply the first step towards something bigger. I can guarantee you that ten years from now, we will look at the current crop of readers (and RSS) the same way we look at Lynx now: a good start but laughably primitive.

Fine, my mistake on the Lounge. But the comment still stands for the SB. Scraping is counter productive. And I have no doubt 10 years from now we will look back and think todays crop are primitive. Nothing wrong with that. Actually, 10 years from now I hope all I use a PC for is to ummm.. hmmm.. actually I will have an assistant then so I won't need to. Goodbye PC ;) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Miszou wrote: I have read the entire internet. on how boring his day was. Crikey! ain't life grand?

Stories of my demise?! Hey, what have people been saying about me while I've been away? :-(

Taka Muraoka wrote: Hey, what have people been saying about me while I've been away? Nothing. I just realised I hadn't seen your name here for ages. And I thought a literary misquote would be appropriate. So you can calm down and have a niiiiice cup of tea. Iain.
