hi I know I'm not from the most advanced country, but why does my optical mouse hover on one spot. At least that is not as bad as the other one, which sometimes seem to slowly find its way up the screen when I'm not even touching it:(( And I though Logitech was a good buy. Maybe it's because I'm a Delphi programmer...

Mine does it to, though only noticable if you really really look hard. Some optical mice might just have a small amount of jitter you can't get rid off. anything noticble though I suspect is a problem. Three things to think about: 1. check your desk is not at an angle and your mouse really is sliding down your desk. 2. make sure speakers, yourself, or anything else that could be sending vibrations through the desk are, well, not there. 3. make sure the surface you are using for the mouse is clean and suitable. The 3rd one is very important - I have a friend who had a really cool mouse mat that would moph colours to his music... he never did figure out why his optical mouse was so unpredictable when he had his media player running. Brakanjan wrote: Maybe it's because I'm a Delphi programmer... Have you installed Logitech's drivers for the mouse? I had a friend that was using the normal Microsoft drivers and he had trouble with his jumping around the screen sometimes. After he installed the right drivers it worked fine. When I first bought my optical mouse, I wanted to get the good Logitech one (the one like the Microsoft Intellimouse) but it was too expensive. I ended up getting the cheapest, crappiest IBM optical mouse on the market (2 button with scroll wheel) and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. Anyway, hope this helps.:) Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

Some mice do that, and some don't. I find that Memorex and MS are the best of what I've tried.
