I've been trying for at least a week, and spent a lot of time searching in google groups and MS Knowledge Base and I could not find the answer. I have a machine with XP Pro in it, and a Compaq 14XL352 Notebook with Me in it. I have an Epson Stylus Color 740i connected to XP, and shared. My sister, who has another machine with XP can print without problems, but the Me box not only cannot print, but also cannot access to any shared folder on the XP system, not to mention it can't also see the shared resources. Right now, what I only need is to be able to print from Me in the Epson connected to the XP. When I try to add the printer manually to Me, it asks for a password to the resource (even if the resource does not exist), and no matter which password I use, it's still wrong. I've tried activating the Guest account, changing from TCP/IP to IPX/SPX and some other things I read on the internet. Could anyone give me a hand? I would most appreciate i. Thanks in advance, Matias Szulman

I think you need to put this in the soapbox forum. This is the trolling forum! Or just open a command prompt and type c:\format and then answer yes.

Hmm, format c: would be more appropriate.

I know your pain, I too have tried networking with ME. Try creating an account with the same username (and password if applicable) as the ME computer on the XP box. Are you using the simple file sharing that is the default on XP? If so, all shares are accessed using the Guest account, and it is disabled by default. Get rid of the simple sharing crud and assign usernames and passwords, then share resources by user within the workgroup. "Your village called -
                  They're missing their idiot."

Also, make sure your XP machine has alternate drivers for Windows 95/98/Me installed. If your printer installer doesn't let you do that for you, you can do it manually by going into the print object properties, Sharing tab, click "Additional Drivers", and go from there. No single raindrop believes that it is responsible for the flood.
