Saw this somewhere else. Hopefully it's not a repost. Below are four (4) questions. You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately. OK? Let's find out just how clever you really are. Ready? GO!!! First Question: You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in? Answer: If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second! Try not to mess up in the next question. To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for the first question. Second Question: If you overtake the last person, then you are...? Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?! You're not very good at this are you? Third Question: Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head only. Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it. Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10. What is the total? Did you get 5000? The correct answer is actually 4100. Don't believe it? Check with your calculator! Today is definitely not your day. Maybe you will get the last question right? Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono. What is the name of the fifth. Answer: Nunu? NO! Of course not. Her name is Mary. Read the question again. Debbie

I suppose it depends on if you they are asking how long the pills last in your system versus how long the pills last in your hand/pill bottle/etc.

The question says: "Mary's father has five daughters", and then names four of the daughters. How can Mary not be the other daughter?

Does the sentence "Mary's father has five daughters" excludes that Mary's father has also sons?

True, and Mary could be a boy - But this is highly unlikely because Mary is a female name in English unlike French or Spanish where Maria can be applied to a male also (e.g. Jose Maria Aznar - The male president of Spain) --Colin Mackay--

3/4 correct, although I could argue that one about over taking the last person. I answered ahead of them, as we could have been on a circular track and lapping them. Roger Allen - Sonork 100.10016 If your dead and reading this, then you have no life!

Who said the father was english? :-D (yes, I'm splitting hairs :)) Marie/Maria is very rarely used as a name for a boy, unless it's a composed name, as Jean-Marie/Jose Maria.

Wrong. If the race is run on a standard running track (which is circular) and you have been overlapped by the second person, you retain your original position once you overtake him. >>Q: If you overtake the last person, then you are...? >>A: Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?! While Maria can be a male name, Mary ain't. The closest female version is "Marie" in quite some central european languages.

Damn you! The first one was born in france, so his name probably isn't mary but Marie or Maria. But the second one - ok, ok...
