Laptop Carrying Case
-
Hello, I've noticed that quite a few Code Project readers travel and have laptops that they have to lug around with them. I also have a laptop and a really heavy carrying case (it's one of those beasts that Dell sells with their Inspiron machines) that makes walking through an airport an incredible chore. I've been looking for a laptop backpack case as this would make any trip that I need my notebook for much easier. However all I've been able to find is the few that Targus makes but they don't look very sturdy and protective at all. I was wondering if anyone here at Code Project has a laptop backpack case that they think is just great, if you could give me a company name or store to check out, that'd be great! Thanks! Joseph LeBlanc,

I've used a few laptop backbacks and some of the best ones are the ones you get at MS conferences (sad, I know :) ) There was one I saw in a luggage store that was made of bullet proof material and had a tracking device in it in case it was stolen. It was around $US200 - way cool. I bought a cheaper one that came with a padded zip sleeve that you slide your laptop into, and then place the zip bag into the backpack. The backpack died after a few months of travelling, but I still use the zip sleeve to place the laptop in my daypack, so I can carry the laptop on my back without it looking obvious that I've got a laptop there (apart from the hunched back and the obvious circulation problems due to the straps cutting into my shoulders - my Dell isn't light!) cheers, Chris Maunder

Yeah, Dell's machines are a little hefty. After I posted this though I went back to searching and stumbled across a company called Spire USA (www.spireusa.com). They have a very impressive line of backpacks. I decided to go with the Meta, no more lobsided shoulders for me! Joe,
