    who invented the idea of using missles to cleanup Al-Qaeda "training camps" in Afganistan? According to CNN, these camps consists of dozens of mojos doing push ups, climbing ropes and shooting rocks with cheap AK-47s.How much would it cost to build a camp with a few ropes? Do you think missles are a little too expensive for these non-assets? Time to send in the PowerPuff girls. :suss:

      How many times does it take you to get into your thick skull that this is not the place for political or religous or sport discussion? leppie::AllocCPArticle("Zee blog");
      Seen on my Campus BBS: Linux is free...coz no-one wants to pay for it.

            Wow, you sure have made a good impression on the CP community in such a short time. Now, if you had actually made the effort to lurk for a bit before opening your mouth, you would have known that heated discussion -- politics and religion -- belongs in the Soapbox. End of story. While I appreciate that your original post is technically within that guideline, the general subject can be turned into a napalm-fuelled-flamewar very easily (eg, is US military action in Iraq and Afghanistan the correct thing to do?), and that's why we have the Soapbox forum. I also think that while you've been somewhat unfairly criticised, rising to it ("Shutup morons") didn't help you at all :doh: It's also very hard to "laze about" when your political or religious ideologies are being attacked :-D Lazing about means making Badger Badger Badger Mushroom jokes, asking people non-controversial questions (eg, Megan's screen resolutions topic), and complaining about a lack of black CodeProject T-Shirts in the store (that's my personal whinge :-)) CillyMe wrote: Last time I check you don't own the board. Heh. See that hammer icon next to Mike's name? That means he's one of the people who put code or time or both into developing the site for the rest of us - while that doesn't give him actual ownership of the forum, he does get a great deal of respect from the rest of us, because we appreciate the effort that goes into this making this site as good as it is. That does give him a kind of moral ownership and as a result of that, we're more inclined to agree with him. And he does make a good point about lurking and getting a feel for the forum and the topics that have been deemed acceptable by the consensus of the regular posters (hence the unwritten "Politics, Religion and Sport" rule). I've been a CP member for a year now, and posting on a regular basis for about 8 or 9 months - I've been made to feel extremely welcome, and have generally got along in a civil manner with everyone (even Terry O'Nolley), because I take care over what I post. I hope that you can consider my reply to you as friendly advice - just apologise for calling people morons, be more careful about the subjects in future, and I think you'll find you're made quite welcome..... -- Ian Darling "The moral of the story is that with a contrived example, you can prove anything." - Joel Spolsky

Perhaps you, then, along with this other twit, should try to observe and learn the rules before sticking your foot in it. It might make more sense than telling long-time members that they don't belong. You aren't impressing anyone (except, perhaps, the moron who started this thread) by lipping off in defense of a butthead.

                                        I do too, but I think they turn into something different from what was originally written somwhere between the screen and my brain: EULA for Blinkensoft WidgetThingy QX v9.6.Alpha.RC3: This EULA (End User Licence Argument) dictates what you owe to us in order to use this software. Our lawyers are better than yours, so you better do it or we'll send the boys over with the rubber hose. We assert that we bear no responsibility for any death, maiming, or injury caused as a result of you trying to get the shrinkwrap off, the box open, or any other handling of the product, even though the packaging was constructed from cyanide, arsenic, barbed-wire, and plastic recycled from Happy Meal toys banned due to the toxic chemicals used to colour them. We assert ownership of your genetic structure and any derivative works thereof. We assert that you will come to our offices in Tuvalu once a month, and clean our cars, windows, and toilets, and you're paying the airfare to get here, bucko. We assert that you are a pudding-head. We assert that this software will render you completely unable to do any work, and we'll set your home-website to any indecent material as we see fit. We assert that we may change this EULA at any time if we think of any other things we want, like a pony. We assert that you will be our pony. -- Ian Darling "The moral of the story is that with a contrived example, you can prove anything." - Joel Spolsky
