 I hope that's meant as a joke. Blaming this on Java would be like blaming C++ for NT's BSOD. Regards, Alvaro

Yes, and not just a geek site, a Java-sucks-ass/C++-is-king-and-.NET-is-cool geek site. :-) On a more serious note, I was wondering when those little Martian moles were gonna come out and cause havoc. Regards, Alvaro

Nasa's Mars rover Spirit has stopped sending useful data to Earth from the Red Planet and mission scientists are unable to send it commands. Story[^] Kind of coincidental after Marc Clifton's thread earlier today, critical of the engineering quality/practices at NASA. :|

NASA needs to develop a robot dog like in that Val Kilmer movie, so it can defend itself against those martians.

The mars rovers use VxWorks. Pathfinder had a similar problem due to a priority inversion bug. They were able to fix it remotely. Chuckle .. its not unknown even here in suburban Sydney for tv antennae to be dislodged by marauding opossums (like the f**king family of em that play football on my roof everynight) Some of our native birds, like Galah's & Cockatoo's may roost on the dishes at night, although its been years since I've been there, I would have thought they had anti fouling (pun intented) devices ... - Cockatoos's are especially destructive, they like seeing what they can eat and pick things apart ... I often see them here in town on the blank wall opposite my building picking concrete our of cracks in the bricks - I think they do it for salts/minerals ... 'G'
