I'll second TextPad for the same reasons - at least, once you switch the keyboard shortcuts to Windows/Office instead of the strange scheme it has by default. -- Ian Darling "The different versions of the UN*X brand operating system are numbered in a logical sequence: 5, 6, 7, 2, 2.9, 3, 4.0, III, 4.1, V, 4.2, V.2, and 4.3" - Alan Filipski

Ah, but I had UltraEdit, which I am still happy with, I am just looking at other editors in case I can't get UltraEdit down at work (I still have UltraEdit at home). TECO was (is) an awesome editor - especially when the macros were used (36 buffers called "Q" registers could hold text or commands) - I created a complete mail merge / reporting system about 20 years ago. You could create commands on the fly, store them in one of the "Q" registers and then execute them. I even ported the editor to a Signetics 2650 microprocessor system using only about 14KB of RAM - which left about 20KB for text. :-D I still use a PC version of the DEC editor EDT - mostly because it creates a Journal file of all of the editing steps that can be recalled if the PC locks up or crashes.
