Three reasons... One, it would be too expensive to burn up the spacecraft that sends the trash along with the trash. Two, if we didn’t use a spacecraft, it would take a mighty big slingshot to get the trash all way to the sun. :) Three, and most importantly, we don’t know with 100% certainty what we are dealing with and if the sun will react to it poorly. And, I for one don’t want to go screwing around with the sun to make it hotter or cooler because either way we’re all dead. Jeremy Falcon
