Just recieved an e-mail from my ISP (Comcast) stating that they've doubled my broadband speed at no additional cost! :omg: All I have to do is reboot my cable modem. *Mike unplugs his modem... :suss: *Mike unplugs his router (just in case)... :~ *Mike waits about 60 seconds... :zzz: *Mike powers up both devices... :cool: *Mike is now surfing at 3Mbps... :-D :jig: :beer:

I have also lived some years in Spain, and there people don't accept that you speak bad spanish. I usually compensate by speaking loud and accusing people of being stupid because they don't understand me. It usually works quite well. -jhaga on non-native languages

You should send them a proposal to oil the string every three weeks or so. The 0's get through most of the time, but the 1's are a problem, as they have sharp edges and tend to hang on sharp corners or rough string segments. Regular lubrication should help to increase bandwidth. You might also consider offerring a proposal to replace the entire infrastructure with 8 lb test monofilament fiber. Fishing line has much greater environmental resistance, yet retains the excellent signal transmission characteristics of kite string. My January 2000 bill for bandwidth was about A$2000. Anyone want to guess why I moved my chatserver to a US ISP who charged me A$235 a month for ten times the bandwidth? Not all of them any more, most if not all have some form of unlimited plan. I'm on one that I think is AUD$80 per month but as the company I work for as a second job is also an ISP I wouldn't know as I don't pay for it. I don't have a connection at home but I do have a ridiculously fast connection in college and in work... but still... nothing at home :(( :(( I'm thinking of connection to one of the Wireless networks that are available around my area... €20 a month for a wireless connection to a 1MBit line.. only problem is I might have to get an antenna for my house and my landlord mightn't leave me put it up.... hmmm.. decisions decisions.
