Might this be a good time to mention that Australian broadband is still in the stone ages? :) Every Australian ISP that I'm aware of (and I do follow Australian broadband news) has draconian download limits. Just surf around this site to see what I'm talking about The Whirlpool[^]. I became a Bigpond subscriber in June 1999, ran a chat server on Bigpond until February 2000. My January 2000 bill for bandwidth was about A$2000. Anyone want to guess why I moved my chatserver to a US ISP who charged me A$235 a month for ten times the bandwidth? I'm on one that I think is AUD$80 per month but as the company I work for as a second job is also an ISP I wouldn't know as I don't pay for it. I don't have a connection at home but I do have a ridiculously fast connection in college and in work... but still... nothing at home :(( :(( I'm thinking of connection to one of the Wireless networks that are available around my area... €20 a month for a wireless connection to a 1MBit line.. only problem is I might have to get an antenna for my house and my landlord mightn't leave me put it up.... hmmm.. decisions decisions. I have also lived some years in Spain, and there people don't accept that you speak bad spanish. I usually compensate by speaking loud and accusing people of being stupid because they don't understand me. It usually works quite well. -jhaga on non-native languages

Just recieved an e-mail from my ISP (Comcast) stating that they've doubled my broadband speed at no additional cost! :omg: All I have to do is reboot my cable modem. *Mike unplugs his modem... :suss: *Mike unplugs his router (just in case)... :~ *Mike waits about 60 seconds... :zzz: *Mike powers up both devices... :cool: *Mike is now surfing at 3Mbps... :-D :jig: :beer:
