Might this be a good time to mention that Australian broadband is still in the stone ages? :) Every Australian ISP that I'm aware of (and I do follow Australian broadband news) has draconian download limits. Just surf around this site to see what I'm talking about The Whirlpool[^]. I became a Bigpond subscriber in June 1999, ran a chat server on Bigpond until February 2000. My January 2000 bill for bandwidth was about A$2000. Anyone want to guess why I moved my chatserver to a US ISP who charged me A$235 a month for ten times the bandwidth? Not all of them any more, most if not all have some form of unlimited plan. I'm on one that I think is AUD$80 per month but as the company I work for as a second job is also an ISP I wouldn't know as I don't pay for it. You took that statement out of context, Rog. ;P I was merely referring to his improper spelling of the word w00t. I mean, come on...he used "o"s instead of 0s and capitalized the w. ;) And I fully appreciate all that everybody that's come before me has done. Thanks guys. :)

Mike, Call me cynical (I am) but I too have Comcast and fully expect the price increase to come soon. I am enjoying the boost, however, in the mean time. Success is measured by ones ability to mask complexity with simplicity.

So a couple of us suggested that if we cut a lot of straight lines we could get close enough. That worked out fine, but then Accounting got into it and insisted that 300 cuts were wasteful and inefficient. After much haggling they knocked us down to only 4 cuts per wheel by the time we released the first beta version. Customer feedback was less than enthusiastic, of course, as the ride was extraorinarily bumpy. We argued and fought with the bean counters and got them to allow us to use 12 cuts, which made for a somewhat improved ride, and then sold the rights to Microsoft before the final release. First of all...very nice. Second, it's w00t! All you oldtimers don't follow proper internet conduct very well. ;P

I have also lived some years in Spain, and there people don't accept that you speak bad spanish. I usually compensate by speaking loud and accusing people of being stupid because they don't understand me. It usually works quite well. -jhaga on non-native languages
