An odd IE problem...

My mates computer has this odd IE problem. IE will run fine on all of the user areas, except for 2 (the admin ones, also the most used), on those sections, when you try to run it, the IE window doesnt appear, and it uses 99% of the CPU. I checked for things being loaded on startup that shouldnt be, and didnt come up with anything. Anybody have any other ideas?

Sometimes it helps to uninstall and reinstall IE. That fixed a problem I had with IE one time.
I tried uninstalling IE once. Ended up having to reinstall the entire OS.:omg: That was back in Win98 days, so I'm sure things have gotten a lot better, but I still get a nervous twitch whenever my mouse hovers over the Add/Remove Programs icon.:sigh:

If something has become corrupted, then Tools->Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings sometimes helps. Another Post by NnamdiOnyeyiriI have noticed part of this problem with my computer occasionally. The part about the window not appearing. IE usually remembers the last window size. If you get one of the porn pop-ups which are very hard to close, and usually don't let you see what's inside the window, and close that last, IE remembers how the window was configured. I would recommend opening IE and right clicking, and selecting "Maximize". This will should bring the window up. As for what it's running that would take 99% of processor power, I don't know. However it would be a good ides to download Spybot Search And Distroy, and Ad-Aware, uipdate them and run them. Best of luck!
