I have two installatations of VS .NET 2002 -- one at home and one at work. Both have created the default virtual directory c:\Inetpub\www. Each directory contains one or more projects that contain exact;y the same files. I am able to operate in debug mode in the home installation (e.g. "Run to cursor" works). When I try the same thing in the at-work instalaltion I get the following error message: "Error while trying to run project. Unable to start debugging on Web Server. Catastrophic failure." I both cases the development computer is functioning as the web server. Any clues as to what the problem could be? Gary Hyslop

Go to Microsoft's support web site at http://support.microsoft.com[^] and click on "Search the knowledgebase". Pick Visual Studio .NET as the product and type in "Unable to start debugging on Web Server" into the Search for... box. There are a few articles there with things to try... RageInTheMachine9532
