Looks like lots of your &span> tags were being HTML encoded. I've fixed these. Background colour should be set using background-color, not background. We don't allow background because it's too difficult to sanitise safely. With regards to countlines: these were being stripped out but I've added them back to the "allow" list. I am no expert in this, but it is something along those lines. The way we have been jumping on them lately, they are not getting a lot of hits (judging by the View Count), but I remember one question in late December that got a lot views in roughly 20 minutes. That particular question had at least 8 spam answers and multiple comments with spam contents, so I assume the more spam links on a page, the more they attract people looking for free content. I can confirm that the following works: <pre lang="html" countlines="true" countstart="123" countincrement="17">a b c</pre> Count starts at 123 and increments by 17. Where as the following does not work: <pre lang="html" countlines="true" countstart="123" countincrement="17"> a b c</pre> Count starts at 17 and increments by 17. This does neither work: <pre lang="html" countlines="true" countstart="123"> a b c</pre> Count starts at 1 and increments by 1. Conclusion: If the first "code line" of the <pre... is on the same line as the tag, countstart works correctly, otherwise it's not working correctly. Cheers Andi
