Well it does for me... but I can't be sure it will for you. As I said in the post, I did a lot of research on this, and I found no other solution. I suspect the whole thing is caused by BIOS incompatability. From what I know the BIOS is supposed to tell the computer how long the computer has been off for and how it was turned on. I suspect that my computer isn't communicating properly and without this data Vista must assume the worse and turns off after two mintues unless some user interaction happens. For what it's worth, I have a Lenovo 3000 J Series. (GigAlarm has a 30 day trial so if the WMP trick doesn't work you can try GigAlarm risk free. ;) ) EDIT: Just to clarify, GigAlarm enables Away mode after resume to prevent idle shutdown and turns it off once input it detected by the system.
