It's primarily right place at the right time. I'm old enough to remember (just) the original broadcasts and it felt revolutionary then. Twenty years ago I bought the entire collection on DVD and enjoyed about 85% of it then. Last time I took a look I enjoyed about 50%. Doesn't devalue the historical importance of what they did though. I think this is just part of the ageing process; I can barely listen to the Goon Show today, but loved it thirty years ago. Comedy evolves, I find little makes me laugh out loud now while the kids laugh uproariously at stuff I find cliched and generic. So, what makes me smile these days? I'm building my own Bluetooth receiver from an ESP32. My software isn't ready for release yet, but the ESP-IDF A2DP sample app works (if you disable the automatic volume change demo). I coupled the ESP32 with a cheap I2S DAC from Amazon (Noradtjcca Dac Decoder I2S Player Beyond Es9023 For Raspberry: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors[^] and am more than happy with the resulting sound quality. I'm driving a Musical Fidelity E10 amp with Arcam Delta2 speakers.

Lol! One bedroom flat, with home made mezzanine floors at 1 metre intervals ;P No, my wife runs a breeding cattery. The Spaniel loves the kittens and the mothers are quite happy to let her clean them for her. Just so long as it's lick, and not chomp.

You clearly don't have dogs AND cats! With one springer spaniel, three collies and 25+ cats the dogs do what the cats tell them :-D
