Basically, what you're missing is seeking the stream pointer to the beginning after writing to the memstream but before calling Deserialize(). The only time I've seen this happen is when the developer only tests on his/her machine. Did you do deployment testing on a clean machine without your development environment in place? Usually you have not included a key DLL or library when you built your setup code. Setup everything on a test machine with Visual Studio debugger running. See if you can find out from a clean machine what is happening. Just because it works on your machine does not mean you have not screwed the pooch.

If you are looking for average transfer rate and/or time remaining, it is fairly simple. Transfer Rate = amount downloaded / seconds elapased. Hi, assuming the native function expects to get a buffer of sufficient size, this is how you should do it: - include a line using System.Runtime.InteropServices; // DllImport - declare the native function as [DllImport("myLibrary.dll")] private extern static int ReadImage(IntPtr hObject, IntPtr pData, ulong dataSize); - allocate an array of sufficient size (type is byte, uint, whatever you like); - use class GCHandle methods Alloc (GCHandleType.Pinned) and AddrOfPinnedObject to get pointer you need (an IntPtr). Have you considered creating a custom Equals or CompareTo method? If not you should have. The Equals method from object class compares instances not the data within the objects. I will use Google before asking dumb questions
