I like helping students, not to be confused with doing their work for them, as it helps to hone my own understanding of various things. But it is a matter of courtesy to other CPians to take the discussion to email if it isn't fairly simple to resolve. It's not all that hard to spot a flake trying to avoid work, and those are simple enough to ignore - they go away shortly. The sincere ones are honestly seeking help, and I have no problem offering mine (for what it's worth). I'd really hate to see a ban on helping with homework imposed on CP. But if the majority feels it necessary, I'll go along with it, and ignore it whenever I feel like it.:) "When in danger, fear, or doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!" - Lorelei and Lapis Lazuli Long
