I think you should install the latest version of the DDK (WDK). The one you are using is very old and probably does not support x64. The new version, the last time I looked was something like 6001.18002. «_Superman_»

I managed to find out myself. For anyone that's interested, there's an undocumented linker switch /pdbpath:none which will remove the full path but keep the pdb file name.

The CFormView has an associated dialog resoruce - lay out your controls on that as you would for a dialog. I did a similar things for VS 2003 and VS 2005. Dunno if it will work with 2005/2008. What I did was this. 1. Install VS 2003 without MSDN Help. 2. Install VS 2005 with MSDN Help. 3. Set VS 2003 to point to VS 2005 Help. At a casual glance though it seems that the options in VS 2005 have changed such that you cannot redirect the Help content. Perhaps there's a registry hack?

I have been tasked with leading the implementation of a new bug tracking system. We have previously been using PVCS tracker (by Merant), an ancient version which, of course, is now unsupported. Apparently, this product was purcahed and revamped into Serena Teamtrack. I'm just getting into it as far as reading some documentation, etc, but was wondering a)if anyone has any experiences (read Horror Stories) with this product(TeamTrack) and general pros/cons. Joe

If you want to use STL strings, you might want to look at Boost.Format[^]. Then you could do something like: osRandomString = boost::format("%X") % x; It's basically a type-safe and more C++-ish version of printf. And there's so much other good stuff in Boost as well that you're doing yourself a favour by using it (IMO!).

tinyXML and CMarkup i have used both in production code, use CMarkup if you require a small footprint.. tinyXML is more complete. If you think you can than you can, if you think you can't you are right.

Yeah, I've got the Stroustrup Special Edition. I want to start using STL and the Boost libraries in particular to help speed up development time as well as offering portability and improving the quality (compared to custom written classes).
