A duck walks into a bar. He goes up to the tender and asks, "Do you have any bread?" The bartender responds, "Um, no. This is a bar. We have beer and liquor." The duck replies, "Ok." and leaves. The next day the duck comes back to the same bar, walks up to the bartender and asks, "Got any bread?" The tender looks at him questioningly, "I told you, we don't have any bread. Drinks only." "You're sure?" "yes!" "Ok." and the duck leaves. The next day the duck comes in again and as the tender sees him, he gets visibly frustrated. "I told you we don't have any bread! If you ask me for bread one more time I'LL NAIL YOUR BEAK TO THE BAR!!" The duck responds, "Whoa, you don't need to get violent about this!" and he leaves. The next day the duck comes in again, goes up to the bar tender and asks, "Do you have any nails?" The tender looks puzzled, "No." The duck replies, "Do you have any bread?"

Selection isn't a conscious action. It is a happenstance between the unique properties of some instance and the environment in which it exists. Some moths were lucky enough to be born darker than others. The dark ones lived to reproduce and the light ones didn't. However, there is still a difference between the natural selection of a set of traits within a given species and the creation and reproduction of a completely new species.

Microevolution --> supported by evidence Macroevolution --> supported by speculation "Light is a corpuscular group of particles." - Sir Isaac Newton (1600s) "No, you're wrong, light is a wave." - James Clerk Maxwell (1800s) "No, its a beam of negative particles, not a wave." - Philip Lenard (1890s) "Nope, its a stream of photons." - Albert Einstein (1921) "No, it really is a wave and a particle simulaneously." - Prince Louis deBroglie (1929) You need a lot of faith to believe in science too.

  • Mixing COM and non-COM property pages
    D DolphLundgren

I'm working on an object that crosses two systems (one system uses standard CPropertyPages for all its objects, the other uses COM/ATL IPropertyPageImpl) The standard system objects simply create a property sheet and invoke DoModal() while the other uses OleCreatePropertyFrame() for its pages. How do you launch a mixed collection of both systems? (CPropertyPages with COM/ATL ones) Thanks in advance for advice!
