Well i figured it out and the problem was with my Eval statement, nothing to do with LINQDataSources or the gridview. Eval("User1.UserName") is how it should be done instead of Eval(User1.UserName). Yeah i found that. The example i gave was from the comments section of that article. The class used in the article requires you to provide a drive letter. The ideas used in the comments section at the bottom of the article givesa a way of doing it without using a drive letter but i can't get it to work. All i want to do is access some files using a unc name and the relevant login cridentials. Cheers Kev

I was after soemthing more generic that would work at a page level for all objects on the page, any button that has focus when enter is pressed will fire, any other control will not cause the page to be submited. When using the DataTable you will have to do the casting. One solution would be to take another data structure. You should also try not taking the ItemArray property as I think it produces a bit overhead (Im not 100% in this): DateTime dt; for (int x = 0; x < Table.Rows.Count; x++) { dt = (DateTime)Table.Rows[x][3] ..... Some other code here ..... }

OK, so the number im reading in was stored based on seconds since 1970 but the Dot Net framework's times are based on 100 nanoseconds since 0001?? Kev

Kev: If the .exe is running then you are definetly not going to be able to copy it. One thing you might do is use some code like this: System.Diagnostics.Process[] processes = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses(); foreach(Process p in processes) { if(p.ProcessName == "ProcessName") { p.Kill(); } } That would kill the process (you should also consider p.close(); and then killing if that fails).
