Actually your wrong about the audio. Once the airplay has started, if you can control the audio output device (I was usung mac bluray player) and tell it to send the audio to Airplay, it will have sound on the output device.

Actually the volume is VERY low. I turned the volume up all of the way on my MBP and upped the volume on the external amp on my TV and could hear it just fine.
