C++ code is hard to parse, unless you have an LL(k)-parser, IIRC. I believe ANTLR is a generalized LL(k) parser generator. But I'm unsure if there are any freely available LL(k) grammars for ISO/IEC 14882 C++. Many class viewers do heuristic parsing, which are basically "creatively guessing" parsers. Try WM_GETICON, I don't know if it works between processes but it's worth a try. If that fails, call GetClassInfo() to fill in a WNDCLASS struct that describes the window's class. Maybe I'm confused, But your trying to see what the users AV package is correct? So how would keeping a list not be able to tell you? For instance lets say mcfescn.exe is the process that is Mcafee AV, so if you scan the running processes and you see that mcfescn.exe is in memory you know that the person is using Mcafee as their AV program. I do agree that using a list is going to be useless if they are using an obsure package but other then asking them I don't see a way to do it..
