RJ45 Lan up to 200 feet? [modified]The official maximum length for a Cat 5 cable (with RJ45 connectors) is 100 metres, so you should be fine. However, as you are running the cable to an out-building, you might be concerned about the effects of electric storms, which can result in major changes to the potential difference and cause damage to your equipment.
