In VS2008 (possibly previous versions), you want to create a new data breakpoint. That will watch a block of memory and break when any of it changes. Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p

But it is still different from your posted solution before -- you use a starter EXE to track the actual configuraiton issues in the inner EXE, correct? 2. So, do you have any ideas to let the EXE itself handle the app.config issue? 3. If you do not suggest to handle such issue, what is your point and any advice to let end user know such issues (because of configuration file format error)? regards, George

Thanks Zap-Man! I do not think your reply is directly related to my question. Here is a little more response. The XML is SOAP reaponse from server, in the response there is one response XML element (element Bcd in my sample) which is encoded by UTF-8 from server side, but since Http Web Services will use base64 at client side, so each time I receive such "bytes" at client side and the automatically generated web services proxy will throw exception says invalid XML element in base64 encoding. So, I am thinking about how to overwrite the default using base64 encoding to decode the bytes, and this is why I ask this question. If there could be a way to accept stream or something similar represents the on-wire bytes of the related response elements (Bcd in my sample) and let me manipulate, it will be so great! regards, George

Thanks SK, 1. Do you mean checking firewall at client side or server side? 2. I have checked my firewall is off at server side, and the server is Windows Server 2003. I have made another test which using browser from another machine to access http://10.10.12.162:1031/<some existing URL>, and IE on another machine can not access the URL. But IE on the same machine (which the server runs) could access the URL. I have two further questions, A. If the firewall is off (checked from Control Panel --> Firewalls), any other points to check which may block network connection? B. I run the web server from Visual Studio directly by pressing F5 on the Windows Server 2003 machine, other than run from IIS web server. I am not sure whether running from Visual Studio will only enable client to access locally? regards, George
