Depends on what DC you want I guess. 1) CClientDC 2) CWindowDC Then i'm guessing you could call GetClientRect() and GetWindowRect() and convert the logical points to device points using LPtoDP() which would give you the absolute position of the requested DC in pixels (i think). I think you should try a GetParent function wich is suppose to return the CWind* of the parent window. You can also have the hwind with (GetParent())->m_hWind
