The question at Database design for a project - Database Discussion Boards[^] certainly give the impression that you do. And your original post in this thread complains that your team mates are all lazy, but does not explain what you have done or where you are stuck.

I just gave a basic description of what my work was. It was my fault for phrasing my question like that. It wasn't really my intention to make somebody else do my work or anything.. and this is my first time here so I was just checking if there was someone willing to help. What I got was rude comments, and I stopped coming to this site altogether. So yeah I understand I must be more specific so that some people don't get the wrong impression. Anyway, the whole thing is over and the problem was solved. So there is no point in further discussion. Have a great day.

Let me clarify that I DO NOT EXPECT you or even someone else to do the work. I am just asking for ideas. Feels like I have come to the wrong site, because of some people who are saying things which I did not even mean:|||| :((

First of all , I do not want anyone to do "ALL THE WORK". It is my fault for phrasing my question like that which somehow made you get the idea that I need others to do my work for me. Second of all, that wasn't a demand. Hope you get it.. Anyone who has worked on a project might most probably know that a database design is not "all the work" as you mentioned. It is like 25% of it. I asked that question here since the design I initially made had redundancies and several errors due to which it was rejected. So I was asking for help to know if someone else had a better design idea. And I am not tasked with designing a db. It is just a small part of the Project that I am working on. It is not like I dumping a list of requirements and just waiting for someone to do the work. You might know that if you get the design wrong, you might have to redo the whole thing again. That is why I needed help in the first place. I am not someone who is really experienced or whatever and it was my first time posting a question. I had no idea that my question would come off like a "demand". :^)

How else would you classify that demand? If you are tasked with designing a database, and someone else hands you a complete database design, how is that not doing all the work for you?

  • Database design for a project

I am doing a Result Analysis project for my college. So basically students will enter the grades that they have obtained for various subjects. If they fail for an exam and take the exam again they need to enter the details of that as well. For the result, we have to find the list of students who passed for a subject in the first attemt, second attempt upto the nth attempt...What will be an efficient Database design for this problem? What tables should be created and what data should be stored in each? Please help...struggling with this for the past few weeks
