That is the new-age version of the "2k-phenomemon". I beleive that actually "something" will happen, but only for those who has the ability to see/hear/feel/taste/smell it. Not an apocalypse nor a cataclism or something. The fact that ancient cultures just cannot predict anything beyond that date, is because that: The can't predict more!
