I'm trying to find the best way to accomplish this; it seems what I'm doing is far too involved. What I'd like to have is a combo box loaded with some IDs that is used to populate a datagrid that queries off of other tables (Access). The main problem I'm having is the DataSet/OleDbCommands I'm using apparently don't like having a multi-table query used. The data in the data grid is going to be a simple inner join off of a few tables, so names can be displayed as opposed to IDs. To fix this, I set up a reader, then populated a queue and used that for the datagrid. This seems like a bit much effort, so I'd rather see if there's a better way. Here's some pseudo-code for what I'm doing - command = "select * from tab1, tab2 where id = @id" command.parameter = @id adapter = new adapter( command ) apadter.fill( dataset ) datagrid.datasource = dataset - event combochange - command.parameter.value = combo.selectedvalue adapter.fill( dataset ) This code works well if there is only 1 table in use, but as soon as multiple tables are involved, it doesn't work so well. I've found ways to link multiple tables through relations, but I just need a read-only grid display of the data. Any help is very much appreciated. ---- xian

I am not dead set quite yet, but I was looking into the HP Jornada 568 and the Compaq iPaq H3800 series. Any recommendations? Should I look into a PalmOS based system or stick with PocketPC 2002? I want something that is very versatile - something that I can view pictures taken from a digital camera (The cameras I've looked at use CompactFlash format), nice organizing software, fast, easy hot-sync, etc. PLUS: I want to be able to program my own applications for it. I've worked with PocketPC 2000 using the Embedded Tools from MS. I liked it a lot (It's C++, how can you not?) but that's not to say that the Palm environment wouldn't be even better. You just had to go there didn't you? Just had to ask a religious question! :flame: I believe in a Creator (I will not refer to him as God because to me that places too much emphasis on Christianity). I think the Bible is full of a lot of 'good ideas' and models for living your life. By no means will I study it so deeply as to let it consume my existance (as a lot do). I think the most important thing about living is interactions and relationships with people. If you can leave this earth and say you truly affected or provided love for more than a handfull of people then you have accomplished your task. I believe that a lot of religions feel that the Creator is inside all of us as he created us in his image. If any of those religions are correct then by giving that love to people you are infact doing what you are supposed to. Just my views. I like to live my life as a good, caring person and hope that if there is Creator and everything does have some meaning that it (I am sure gender isn't an issue) will see that I'm a good person.
