I have checked the SQL connection and the setting was 6. Then looking at the log files, the actual queuing up happens when the DLL's first function is called (way after the SQL connection/process is being triggered). The other DLL stops/waits until the first DLL is done. It is highly likely that they're using the same resource... but any possibility that this is somehow the DLL's loading being queued up?

That's what they want you to think. Resist! It's only really obsolete when it no longer does the thing you bought it for. What is slightly annoying is when you've made a compromise (smaller memory for example) and then they drop the prices. Takes the shine off your shiny new gadget somewhat.

part of the requirements given to me. never would think or might want to do that thing myself anyway :) one application is more of a graph maker and another is more of the overall application which manages all the dedicated applications (one is the graph maker).

You can also use shared data segment in dll.

Yes you are right! Exit code of 0 is done when the OK or Cancel button is pushed. And Exit code 2 is when close button or alt-F4 is done. Thank you very much for your help! :D

The only problem I've ever had with Safari is that when I log on to remote journal access it whines and complains about "too many redirects", so I have to use Firefox. Aside from that, CP renders just fine with it and it's quite fast compared to IE. As for the external storage devices, that's just crying wolf. I hook up my digital camera and it (the OS) complains constantly, but I've never lost data. I think it's just part of the UI... BTW: are you still in "The big smoke"? Actually I placed a TRACE in the OnClose function to see if it works before. Since the timer is the one which calls the OnClose function, it printed out in the Output window the message I set inside the OnClose function using TRACE. What I was wondering about was that I had the CDialog::OnClose() inside the function but it did not work. I needed to click on the close button once again to close the application. I made a breakpoint inside the function to double-check and it actually passes the CDialog::OnClose() but it won't close when called directly by the OnTimer function. I also tried DestroyWindow but it really does not work ( though it passes through that line) when called by OnTimer and needed for the close button to be pressed once again to close it.

It worked! Thank you so much for your help. I was never aware of the possibility that GDI may leak if you don't save and re-select the pointer that SelectObject returned. I did past applications though without doing that. Though not as much on loading in images like this one. Again, thank you to all that helped specially jhwurmbach. :)
