No. Access doesn't support triggers or notification. SQL Server 2000 and above does. SQL Server 2000 needs a Notification Services extension installed. Search MS's site. SQL 2005 comes with it standard. A workaround method would be to implement something like a service, or .NET Remoting singleton, that manages access to the database, updating required tables and whatnot, but also exposing events that the clients subscribe to. In other words, if you make it a windows application, but don't create a window, it will be really hidden! The task name will show up in task bar, but there will be no visible widnow. Thanks. Here's what I found: if I use unsigned shorts, everything works fine. Apparently, the value is sign- extended when using signed variables - so the 1F40 (when looking at it as a 13 bit number) is a negative number and the sign bit is extended out when placing the value in the struct (giving FF40). Do you like programs that do things not originally envisioned when the system was designed? Like, adding spell checkers to ordinary textboxes? Or detecting when you're not interacting with the system, in order to do background processing or mark your IM session as "idle"? There are plenty of good reasons. There are also plenty of bad ones. Well I don't blame MS for the crashes in my PC. I think they have done a great work in making PC easy to operate for common man. They were the best, and best always get preference, no matter what other says. Like now I am using firefox becuase I like it plugins, there is a plugin for almost everything you want with firefox.
