Thats a 5 from me John for the entertainment value of your reply. I guess then its a patched version of the installer that I downloaded? Pretty sure I got it from the real 'messenger' download page, scanned it for viruses before running, all the usual.. When I did run it and it started asking me about activation codes, I did a thorough googling to try and find any warnings about 'sms activation scams' etc and came back with nothing. Embarrassed and ashamed I fell for it then really! I'll wear my IDIOT badge with pride.

Looks handy. I'd probably use it if it were open source, not because of the cost but it's probably not quite worth the hassle of trying to go through our wretched purchasing/deployment channels at work just to have an explorer window in the VS IDE.
