Sorry, I think I was just in a different frame of mind, probably still mulling over some of the other posts and comments. You were the first I picked on.:-D I agree, I would not mind Sun trying to give us Java to try and stop MS - it keeps MS on their toes. The thing is they do it in the name of trying to give soemthing back to the masses, yet given the chance they would jump right into MS's shoes. McNeily from Sun, or what ever his name is a really good speaker, and comes across as nice guys, but he's a like the rest. As for AOL, arrrrrhhhhgh! Who do they think they are. I'm naturally suspicious of any media company, and them more than the rest. And those awful adverts, and the womans hair cut. We get this in the UK. Does anyone else? Giles

The problem is that there's no hardware support. There are a lot of "better ways" that never see the light of day, much less struggle to pull themselves fully into that light. BeOS may have stood a better chance if the guys writing it had gone the same route as Linux and made it open-source...
