I think the rates in Utah have been pretty scattered over the last 12-18 months. I have had some opportunities come my way that were where I expected them to rate wise and plenty of others come by on the low end. Takes a lot more searching to find the ones that are paying what they should be for the positions. I don't know how it is in other places around the country but one bad trend that Utah has had for a long, long time is companies looking for Sr. level skilled people or for people with wide ranging skills (like wanting someone with Java, .Net programming skills AND some system administration all roled into one) and yet the companies only offer pay in the Jr., to Mid level ranges expecting to find the talent they need on the way cheap side. And all of that in one of the states that has done well during this latest recession with lower than average unemployment... Go figure. ~..~
