CWinApp has a member LPCTSTR m_pszHelpFilePath that is initialized before InitInstance() is called using a _tcsdup(), so you could free() the current m_pszHelpFilePath and _tcsdup() your own path in your InitInstance(). I know how to load res-only-dll in MDI app. But in CDialog app, it seems a little different. I can't change the dll on the fly.

Now it really works. I can input Arabic in CEdit. But it seems that VC6.0 doesn't support unicode input while coding. I can't input Arabic directly in the code. Visual Studio.net will support unicode well.

Off the top of my head, you should be able to do it by handling WM_GETMINMAXINFO / CWnd::OnGetMinMaxInfo. Iain.

some stuff that might help - try stepping through the codes in debug mode and inspect each values individually to see if they are valid. sometimes u might get a CString or an int holding really strange values/strings that are unexpected - initialize all declarations

why do you say VC6 is rubbish? I've had nothing but problems with VS2005, even though I applied the service pack 1 and then the vista pack as well. I still can't get add member variables to work properly, and miss the old right click class wizard in VC6. I can still get to the class wizard/add variable but when I click control type variable all the other fields still stay empty and are unusable.
